Connect VidSniff to your AI assistant

Setup takes about a minute. There's no API key: you sign in with your VidSniff account and approve access. You need an active VidSniff plan.

Claude (web & desktop)

Open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector.
Name it VidSniff and paste https://vidsniff.com/api/mcp as the URL.
Click Connect, sign in to VidSniff and click Approve.
In a new chat, make sure VidSniff is turned on in the tools menu.

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http vidsniff https://vidsniff.com/api/mcp

Run /mcp inside Claude Code and choose Authenticate.
Sign in to VidSniff and click Approve.

ChatGPT

Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode.
Back in Apps & Connectors, click Create.
Name it VidSniff, paste https://vidsniff.com/api/mcp and choose OAuth for authentication.
Sign in to VidSniff, click Approve, then enable VidSniff in a chat.

Cursor

Open Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server, or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

Cursor opens a browser window to sign in. Click Approve and you're ready.

Available tools

Tool	What it does
`search_ads`	Search ads by keyword, domain, advertiser, country, category, format, length and recency. Sort by views, newest, longest running or duplicates.
`brand_overview`	A brand's ad count, new and active ads, spend estimate, formats, countries and top 5 ads.
`get_ad`	Full details for one ad: copy, CTA, landing page, YouTube link and run dates.
`top_advertisers`	Biggest YouTube advertisers by estimated spend or number of ads.
`top_brand_domains`	Biggest brand websites advertising on YouTube.
`list_categories`	All industry categories with ad counts.

Limits

Each answer returns up to 25 ads, and accounts can make up to 300 requests per day (resets at midnight UTC). This keeps the service fast for everyone.

Troubleshooting

“An active VidSniff subscription is required”: sign in with the account that has your plan, or start a plan.
Sign-in window didn't return to the assistant: remove the connector and add it again.
Assistant doesn't use VidSniff: make sure the connector is enabled in that chat, or mention “use VidSniff” in your prompt.
